Welcome to Carmichael Border Collies. We are owned by Ann Carmichael and the late Pete Carmichael. We are located at Timber Lake, SD.Here at the ranch we currently run 750 head of cross-bred ewes. We are very proud of the well socialized Border Collies that we raise. We work our dogs on both sheep and cattle. Even though we own sheep we focus our breeding on cattle dogs.
We truly believe the border collie is the supreme working dog, and we work hard to maintain the integrity of the breed as such. We strive for dogs that are physically and mentally able to handle long working days in tough situations and that we enjoy both as partners but also as members of our family. We also work to stay informed about and prevent health issues by taking advantage of genetic and radiographic testing before breeding any dog.
